The Lightning Lane rules at Disney World’s Disney’s Hollywood Studios have changed! With today’s opening of the Muppets version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and a new show, even the Lightning Lane tier lineup is different now. If you’re visiting in summer 2026, this is a must-read 👀
New Lightning Lane attractions
The headline of this update is that the newly opened attractions have been added to Lightning Lane.

This attraction now runs as Lightning Lane Multi Pass Tier 1. That means among your first 3 Lightning Lane bookings, you can’t combine it with the attractions below:
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
- Slinky Dog Dash
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets
On your first booking you can choose only one Tier 1 attraction.
🎭 The new show is on Lightning Lane too
The newly opened Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! has also been added to Lightning Lane Multi Pass.

With more families expected over the summer, it looks like an option to cut show wait times. The show is in the Tier 2 group.
Current Hollywood Studios Tier 2 attractions
- Alien Swirling Saucers
- Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage
- Frozen Sing-Along Celebration
- Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
- The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure
- Star Tours
- Toy Story Mania!
- Tower of Terror
- Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!
These are the attractions currently in Tier 2.
Park strategies are likely to change
The rope-drop strategy is what this change affects most. With the Muppets coaster moving into Tier 1, people are expecting:
- Some of the competition for Slinky Dog Dash to spread out
- Possibly shorter waits for Tower of Terror
- Changes in which Lightning Lanes sell out early
Also, the “Tower of Terror → Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster” route that longtime Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster fans know well is more likely to become a popular path again.
Lightning Lane types, recapped
Disney World currently has three main types of Lightning Lane:
- Lightning Lane Multi Pass → Book multiple attractions. You can book 3 at first and add more after using them.
- Lightning Lane Single Pass → Bought individually for top attractions.
- Lightning Lane Premier Pass → Use Multi Pass and Single Pass attractions without return times.
Will it get even more competitive?
Summer 2026 brings together:
- A wave of new attraction openings
- The start of the Cool KIDS Summer event
- The Muppets coaster’s first season
so Lightning Lane competition at Hollywood Studios is expected to get much fiercer. Some analysts also say Slinky Dog Dash and the Muppets coaster are likely to sell out quickly.
