One of the things that catches first-time Disney World visitors off guard most is 👉 travel time & transportation. Disney World is so spread out that getting between the parks, hotels and Disney Springs takes longer than you’d think.
The transportation people use most is the 🚌 free Disney bus… and the problem is that you never know when it’s coming 😅 So here’s ✨ a tip that takes away most of the stress of not knowing when your bus will show up!
📱 How to check Disney buses on Google Maps
It’s surprisingly simple 👇
① Open Google Maps – enter your starting point (hotel/park) and your destination.
② Tap the “Transit” icon – tap the 🚇🚍 icon and you’ll see the travel time and route.

Checking the route and travel time
③ Choose the bus route
On this screen you can see at a glance:
- the walking time to the bus stop
- the estimated travel time

Tap the bus option!
④ Check the bus’s estimated arrival time (the key step!)
When you tap the bus option, 👉 the times the Disney bus is expected to arrive are shown like a timetable. They’re usually shown at intervals of about 20–25 minutes.

Bus timetable
🚨 The really useful feature is this!
Tap on a bus and you can see:
- 🚌 which stops that bus passes through on its way
- 🕒 its estimated arrival time at each stop!

This is especially useful at resorts like Coronado Springs and Saratoga Springs, which have several bus stops inside the resort – depending on whether your stop is the first to board or get off, you can work out whether you’re likely to get a seat.
It also lets you make calls like:
- 👉 “Is it coming right now?”
- 👉 “Do I have time to use the restroom?”
- 👉 “Can I grab a snack first?”
so managing your time becomes much easier.
💡 Especially recommended if you…
- ✔️ are staying at a Disney resort hotel
- ✔️ have a schedule with lots of bus travel
- ✔️ need to manage your timing for morning rope drop or getting back in the evening
- ✔️ are traveling with kids or need to save your energy
👉 With just Google Maps, you can save both energy and time.
