Going to baseball games has become hugely popular in Korea, and ticketing is getting more competitive every season ⚾ This time I want to introduce Seoul’s best-known ballpark, Jamsil Baseball Stadium!

Jamsil is the home stadium of both the Doosan Bears and the LG Twins. I went to a Doosan Bears game and put together everything in one place: how to book, discounts, the view from my seat and food 😊 I’ve kept it to just the info that will actually help on game day!

How to Book Seats

1️⃣ Booking Online

✔ Sign up, then book on the Doosan Bears website or app (booking fee: 1,000 KRW per ticket)
👇 Doosan Bears website

✔ Sign up with NOL Ticket (the Korean ticketing platform formerly known as Interpark Ticket), then book on the website or app (booking fee: 1,000 KRW per ticket)
👇 NOL Ticket Doosan Bears page

  • Tickets go on sale 7 days before the game at 11 a.m.
  • Up to 4 tickets per account
  • You can cancel until 4 hours before the first pitch
  • From the day after booking, a 10% cancellation fee applies, and partial cancellations are not possible.

2️⃣ Discounts

Unusually, the Doosan Bears offer a discount for Chung-Ang University (중앙대학교) students! You get 1,000 KRW off seats in the Red seat category and below, for the student only 😊 If you study at Chung-Ang University, don’t miss it.

※ You must bring your student ID when you pick up the ticket at the on-site ticket booth!

3️⃣ Tips for Catching Cancelled Tickets

This game was against the always-popular Samsung Lions, so it sold out fast 💙 Getting tickets at Seoul ballparks really isn’t easy… 😭 So once again I went for cancelled tickets, which Korean fans call “chwiketing” (취케팅, cancellation ticketing)!

From catching cancelled tickets many times:

✔ Between 5 and 4 hours before the game on game day
👉 This is the key window when the most cancelled tickets are released!

✔ Some also appear the evening before the game
👉 but the chances are lower.

For a 6 p.m. game, I kept refreshing between 1 and 2 p.m. on game day and finally got one 😆 Also note that once it’s past 4 hours before the first pitch, no more cancelled tickets will appear!

4️⃣ Seating Map

Seats are broadly divided into table seats and cheering seats 😊

Among the cheering seats, the Orange seats (오렌지석) are closest to the cheering stage (응원단상, the platform where the team’s cheer squad leads the chants and songs), so they’re the most popular choice for anyone who wants to feel the full, passionate cheering atmosphere 🔥

Cancelled tickets tend to come up fairly often for the Red seats (레드석), which are a little farther from the field, and for the Navy seats (네이비석), which have the largest number of seats. Because there are so many Navy seats, cancellations sometimes trickle out even on game day 👀

5️⃣ Ticket Prices by Seat

Weekend tickets cost a bit more than weekday tickets!

My Game Day Review

Doosan Bears tickets feature player photos and look really nice 😊 Printing a paper ticket to keep as a souvenir would be a great idea!

I got a cancelled ticket for 3rd-base Navy seats, block 330, row 6, seats 60 and 61. There was a staircase right next to it, so getting in and out was really easy 👍

Now let me show you the view from my seat!

1️⃣ 3rd-Base Navy Seat View (Block 330, Row 6)

This is what it looked like when I sat down! Photos make things look smaller than they really are, so what I actually saw felt more like the photo below.

I could see the whole field better than I expected, and the pitcher’s delivery was clearly visible too ⚾

The Navy seats are toward the back, but they’re close to the line of the away team’s cheering stage, so everyone stands up together and cheers when the away team is at bat. You can see the cheering stage well, so it’s a great fit if you want to cheer your heart out 🔥

The scoreboards were easy to see too! Looking from the 3rd-base side, the big main video board is on the left and the score board is on the right, and both were in a great line of sight 😊

The team I support, the Samsung Lions, won that day 💙 When your team wins at the ballpark, it’s a total dopamine rush, haha. That’s probably why I keep chasing cancelled tickets 😆

2️⃣ Handy Item for the Ballpark

Jamsil is an open-air stadium and the seats are packed close together, so it gets really hot and humid in summer 🥵💦 The most useful item here is a handheld fan! It makes a huge difference on sweltering days 👍 Bring one along and you’ll enjoy the game far more comfortably 😊 (I used the Alisa 100-speed Ice Turbo MAX portable fan.)

3️⃣ Public Transport After the Game

The Jamsil Sports Complex (잠실종합운동장) is so well served by public transport that it was actually easier than coming by car 😊

I left either just before the game ended or about 15 minutes after it finished. The buses were relatively quiet, and the subway was busy but not as packed as Seoul’s rush-hour trains 🚇

Food and Drink Map

1️⃣ Food and Drink Inside the Stadium

There are lots of good restaurants and shops around Jamsil Baseball Stadium, so many people bring takeout food in with them! Of course, there are also plenty of food and drink stands inside the stadium 😊 The map below, made by the Korean blog “여행과마음” (Travel and Heart), makes it easy to find the stand you want.

That’s it for my Doosan Bears game day review at Jamsil Baseball Stadium 😊 Jamsil is scheduled to be rebuilt, so there aren’t many seasons left to see the stadium as it is now. If you love baseball, be sure to catch a game here this year ⚾🍻
