📍 Universal Epic Universe — 1001 Epic Blvd, Orlando, FL 32819, USA
Let me introduce Epic Universe, the brand-new theme park that opened on May 20, 2025. As you’d expect from the newest park, every single ride is packed with cutting-edge technology and storytelling. (Even the carousel moves so smoothly… it’s truly amazing!)
Many of you probably haven’t been yet, so today I’m covering every attraction, land by land. As a self-proclaimed ride fanatic, I’ve added my own star ratings ⭐️ and sorted everything into four categories to make it easy to follow:
- Thrilling attractions: 🌠 Thrill ride
- Slow-moving attractions: 🐌 Slow ride
- Attractions where you sit and watch in a theater: 🎭 Show
- Places to meet Universal characters: 🤩 Character experience
Plus:
- 💧 marks attractions where you might get a little wet.
- 💫 marks attractions that accept Universal Express Pass.
👨🚀 Celestial Park — the central hub where the explorer’s journey begins
Celestial Park is themed as a mysterious garden where cosmic energy flows in, and from which explorers set off through portals to each world. All over the park you’ll find cosmic details like constellations, comets, cosmic lights and orbiting, rotating structures. It’s also the starting point for the portals that lead to the other lands, as if you’re teleporting.
- 💫 Constellation Carousel / 🐌 Slow ride / ⭐️⭐️⭐️
The most elegant, modern carousel in the world! The ride vehicles move forward and back and spin while orbiting, so it feels like you’re dancing through space. The music is played at random, and the lit-up nighttime version has a completely different vibe, so I recommend riding it twice: once by day and once at night!
- 💫 Stardust Racers / 🌠 Thrill ride / ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A high-thrill roller coaster that reaches up to 100 km/h! Two comet-inspired trains launch side by side and keep crossing, overtaking and racing in parallel, which gives you real chills. You pass so close to the other train that you can see the riders’ faces, so the thrill is off the charts!
🧙♂️ The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic: the French world of “Fantastic Beasts”
This land isn’t based on the main Harry Potter story but on the Fantastic Beasts series, with a wizarding Paris setting! Universal Orlando’s other parks already have Hogwarts and London, so to keep from overlapping with those worlds they built it around the French Ministry of Magic and Fantastic Beasts, which is a big part of its charm.
- 💫 Le Cirque Arcanus™ / 🎭 Show / ⭐️⭐️⭐️
A show built around the magical circus from Fantastic Beasts. The realistic special effects and secretive atmosphere are captivating, and the animatronics flow naturally into the fantasy staging. It’s a nice show to sit back and relax.
- 💫 Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry™ / 🌠 Thrill ride / ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A simulator-based ride set deep inside the Ministry of Magic, depicting a showdown between Umbridge and Dumbledore. Effects that make you feel like you’re casting magic yourself are combined with sudden movement and spinning, so the thrills are strong. The sheer scale of the sets and the blend of video and stage technology are impressive.
🐲 How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk — a dragon adventure
A themed land where you can experience the world of How to Train Your Dragon just like in the films! You can see the black Night Fury, Toothless, at close to life size, and it’s full of Berk-style wooden buildings and Viking cultural details.
- 💫 Fyre Drill / 🐌 Slow ride / ⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 💧
A water ride themed as Viking fire-fighting training, where you complete a “mission” by firing water cannons. You can get a little wet, so it’s refreshing in summer but be careful in winter!
- 💫 Hiccup’s Wing Gliders / 🌠 Thrill ride / ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A thrill coaster that feels like you’re hanging from a dragon’s wing and soaring through the sky! The sense of speed is good, and the track flows freely along the terrain, so it really feels like flying.
- 💫 The Untrainable Dragon / 🎭 Show / ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A large stage show featuring Toothless and many other dragons. Life-size dragon animatronics perform alongside actors, so it feels incredibly real. During the show, you can even see Toothless actually flying.
- Dragon Racer’s Rally / 🐌 Slow ride / ⭐️⭐️⭐️
A spinning aerial ride you can control yourself. You work levers to tilt left and right and flip, but the controls aren’t easy, so getting it to flip all the way is hard. Try to make it go all the way around!
- Meet Toothless and Friends / 🤩 Character experience
A spot to take photos with your dragon friends! Toothless in particular is a superb animatronic with lifelike facial expressions.
🍄 SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™ — 100% immersion inside Nintendo games
A themed land that brings the Nintendo world to life in 3D, with bricks, pipes, coins and even Piranha Plants all at real size! A big highlight is that with a Power-Up Band you can play with interactive elements all over the land.
- 💫 Mario Kart™: Bowser’s Challenge / 🐌 Slow ride / ⭐️⭐️⭐️
A Mario Kart ride using AR (augmented reality) technology. Bowser keeps losing to Mario in the games, so this time he invites you to his own castle for a race.
- 💫 Yoshi’s Adventure™ / 🐌 Slow ride / ⭐️⭐️⭐️
A family ride that slowly tours Yoshi’s charming world. The views are great for photos, and it’s a relaxing attraction overall.
- 💫 Mine-Cart Madness™ / 🌠 Thrill ride / ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A Donkey Kong-themed “track-jumping” roller coaster! You don’t actually jump, but special track technology makes it look like you do. It’s fast, too, which makes it one of the most popular attractions in the park.
- Meet Donkey Kong / 🤩 Character experience
Meet the gorilla Donkey Kong.
- Meet Mario and Luigi / 🤩 Character experience
Mario and Luigi have interactive animatronic voices, which makes meeting them adorable.
- Meet Princess Peach / 🤩 Character experience
Meet Peach inside Princess Peach’s garden.
- Meet Toad / 🤩 Character experience
Meet the cute little Toad.
🧛♂️ Dark Universe
A dark, thrilling land that reimagines classic monsters like Frankenstein, the Wolf Man and Dracula. The atmosphere is dark and tense, but the detail is superb, so thriller fans will love it.
- 💫 Curse of the Werewolf / 🌠 Thrill ride / ⭐️⭐️⭐️
A mini roller coaster that races through the werewolf’s forest. It’s not very fast, but sudden spins and the dark atmosphere make it fairly tense.
- 💫 Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment / 🌠 Thrill ride / ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A simulator-based ride about the monsters breaking loose in Frankenstein’s laboratory. Screens, physical sets and real-time special effects blend perfectly for overwhelming immersion. Do not miss it.
- Dark Universe Character Meet & Greet (Frankenstein) / 🤩 Character experience
Meet Frankenstein’s monster face to face! He’s much bigger and more detailed than you’d expect, so he makes a striking impression in photos.
Because the attractions are new, they’re highly immersive and ride smoothly, so I strongly recommend Epic Universe to anyone who hasn’t been yet or is planning an Orlando trip soon!
